The Communication Jigsaw: How to make those elegant shifts and speak everyone’s language with balanced thinking

The WebEx recording of this session can be found here.

The slides from this session can be found here.

Do you sometimes talk to clients / colleagues and think “the lights are on, but there’s no-one at home?”

We will, naturally, gravitate towards people who ‘speak our language’. Most of us will communicate 80% of the time with only 20% of the people we know.

How we develop our business relationships will depend on where we sit on the balanced thinking grid…

  • Bottom Left people will develop relationships and people from a place of it being the right thing to do
  • Top Left people will develop relationships and people because it will generate new ideas, or because for them to achieve their bigger picture goal it is essential
  • Bottom Right people will develop relationships and people because they care about realising an individual’s potential
  • Top Right people will develop relationships and people because it is fun and requires skill

Balanced thinking programmes improve your workplace culture by training leaders to recognise their greatest strengths and create a more collaborative business environment.

Key Learning Points:

  • Find out how to communicate effectively with the other 80%
  • Understand if you are driven and motivated by: Fact ● Future ● Feelings ● Form
  • Know if you talk in: Novels ● Paragraphs ● Sentences ● Bullet points
  • Find out how confident you are to pitch and present to all your customers with ease and elegance
  • Establish how to be in flow with your work and know what to delegate to others so you can be more productive
  • Learn how to minimise misunderstandings and maximise on productive and win / win conversations
