Women-owned businesses urged to capitalise on momentum as WEConnect championed by Government
It is the strongest and most public statement of Government support yet for WEConnect, as it receives full backing in the new Government Enterprise Strategy, launched on March 12th in conjunction with the budget. In a strategy dominated by actions to support women start and grow businesses, WEConnect was highlighted as a key initiative by the Government.
“This statement of support by the Government shows they recognize that female entrepreneurs are an untapped source of innovation and growth. WEConnect exists to enable women to capitalise on this, helping them to increase productivity and profitability by identifying contract opportunities with leading national and multinational companies. More and more corporations recognize the commercial sense of having diversity in their supply chain and we are urging women business owners to come forward and bid for the lucrative contracts they have to offer” says Sue Lawton, Director of Development, WEConnect.
Women business owners are urged to capitalise on the momentum and take their businesses to the next level through joining WEConnect.
