Jaluch, a WEConnect International certified women's business enterprise, has been working hard this past year to practice what they preach around supplier diversity. They are proud to announce that in the past 6 months, a staggering 48.93% of their spend with suppliers has been spent with women-owned businesses. They smashed their target and are thrilled to lead the way for smaller businesses on supplier diversity.

Helen Jamieson, Director, shares:

"If P&G and other corporates are providing opportunities for female owned businesses, surely women-owned businesses should be actively looking to support women entrepreneurship too. A year ago at Jaluch, prompted by the WEConnect International website, we set ourselves a target of 20% of supplier spend to be spent with women-owned businesses. Now our figures show that in the first 6 months of this financial year, we have beaten that target and achieved 49%. I couldn’t be more delighted.I have also found that simply as a result of having a target - and talking within the business about why it’s important - when we go out to look for a new supplier, my team are automatically working, with no prompting from me, to ensure that at least one women-owned business is in the mix for us to consider."

To celebrate their success and hopefully encourage a few others, Jaluch now have a dedicated page on their website around supplier diversity: https://www.jaluch.co.uk/about/employer-and-supplier-diversity/

Helen is judging the Venus Awards Employer of the Year (London region) and hopes that some of the businesses entering will check out their website and like what they see and it would be great if other women-owned businesses choose to follow their lead!
